Mexico

Mexico is not one of my most favorite destinations but there are a few exceptions: one being a small boutique hotel south of Zihuatanejo situated along a nearly deserted stretch of oceanfront.  The developer had discovered a large aquifer sufficient to provide water to support his passion for growing and maintaining lush vegetation.  His success is nothing short of stunning.  The hotel had only six rooms with full restaurant and bar.  A true oasis!

An afternoon sojourn into a town – a town catering to the cruise ship trade – was pretty nondescript except for this shop (one of many) the colors emanating from within to vivid to ignore.

The owners dog.  What’s to say.  He was part of the family.  He didn’t beg.  He didn’t misbehave.  He didn’t try to eat off the table.  He just want to sit like everyone else.

This is one of my most favorite of all photos I’ve ever taken.  Susan was watching a tadpole in the pool.

I mentioned a few exceptions in Mexico – another is Sayulita.  Lazy crazy days of reading, beachcombing, sunbathing and swimming.  Most memorable however, was the time we spent with close friends.
